Romeo Santos was horn in New York City on July 21, 1981. His mother was a Puerto Rican while his father was a Dominican. Growing up, Romeo joined a public school i the Bronx. During that time, he was also singing in the church choir.
Talking about his personal life, Santos has been with his longtime girlfriend and they welcomed three children. Additionally, he also has another child named Alex from a previous relationship.
Romeo Santos’ Time with Aventura
Romeo started his career as part of a music group. The Aventura was formed by brothers Lenny and Max Santos in 1993, alongside their cousin Banda. However, the cousin didn’t stick with the group. After leaving them, the group was introduced to Romeo Santos and ended up accepting him as a member.
Romeo then brought up his cousin and the band now consisted of four boys who were ready to take up the world with their music. They formed the Los Tinellers band and would perform locally in the Brons.
The group was then discovered by Elvin Polanco, a manager and he ended up helping them to record their first studio album in 1995. In 1996, manager Julio Cesar Garcia then reinvented the band and helped create Aventura.
Under Aventura, they signed with Premium Latin Music and released their debut album, “Generation Next” in 1998. Their album gave them a spotlight as it consisted of hits such as “Cuando Volveras.”
They then released their second album “We Broke the Rules” in 2002 and it consisted of the hits single “Obsesion.” The band went on to release other albums until the members split and everyone took a solo career.

Romeo took on his solo career in 2011 and he first signed with Sony Music Latin and released “Formula, Vol. 1” as his first solo album. The album was a great hit and even reached position one on the Top Latin Albums chart. It even earned him a Grammy Award nomination under the category for Best Tropical Latin Album.
